Are you passionate about creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for 2S/LGBTQ+ individuals in social work? Look no further! Our Queer Inclusive Grant aims to empower students like you to drive positive change within Canadian Schools/Faculties of Social Work.
Objective: We’re seeking innovative teaching tools that seamlessly integrate 2S/LGBTQ+ content and promote anti-homophobia/transphobia education. Your ideas can shape the future of social work education!
Grant Amount: $1000 CAD awaits the winning candidate. Imagine the impact you could make!
Eligibility: This is open to current students enrolled in CASWE-ACFTS accredited Canadian Schools/Faculties of Social Work, both undergraduates and graduates. This is an opportunity to show us your dedication to 2S/LGBTQ+ advocacy and education.
Project Details: The chosen candidate will develop an original Open Education Resource (OER) for social work education that will be available to instructors on the Queer Caucus page on the CASWE-ACFTS website. It should be adaptable, practical, and relevant to the Canadian context. Let’s educate social workers on queer realities and combat homophobia and transphobia together!
Budget: Use the grant to recognize your hard work and/or cover necessary project expenses.
Application Requirements: Please submit a detailed two-page proposal outlining your teaching tool, its objectives and potential impact on social work education. Also, include your CV. Provide a concise summary of the budget.
Judging Criteria: We’ll evaluate your submission based on innovation, relevance, feasibility, and potential impact. Be bold, be creative!
Award Process: Our panel of peers from the CASWE-ACFTS Queer Caucus will select the winning candidate. The announcement will be featured in the Canadian Association for Social Work Education Newsletter. You’ll receive coaching and support from our Queer Caucus members. The teaching tool will need to be completed by the end of February 2025. Funds allocated through this grant will need to be used by March 31st, 2025.
