Covid-19

March 13, 2020 – Given the challenge of dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic and the evolving public health threat, the Executive Committee, on behalf of the Board of Directors of CASWE-ACFTS is assessing rapidly changing information in an effort to implement measures to safeguard the health and well-being of staff, volunteers and the broader community. As a response to the spread of Covid-19 and in the attempt to minimize its spread and work towards the safety of our community, we have decided to promote and support social distancing. This has implications in several areas of the Association’s functioning.

First, we are directing that all site visits by the Commission on Accreditation be suspended until further notice. New dates will be determined in collaboration with the Commission on Accreditation and the schools. The Board recognizes the unusual circumstances the pandemic has created and would like to emphasize there will be no penalties related to a program’s accreditation status for the suspension of the site visit.

Second, all staff are now working remotely until further notice. We ask all our members to communicate with staff through their emails.

Further information about the conference and Annual General Meeting will be forthcoming.

These decisions are not taken lightly and are based on the recommendations of Public Health Agencies and respecting Universities’ policies and protocols in response to this pandemic.
